What makes the shortlist?
We consider properties that offer a distinctive combination of location, accommodation and things to do during a stay. Most are within casino resorts; Le Normandy is included as a nearby coastal hotel.
- Setting. The surrounding city, beach or landscape, and the kind of trip it supports.
- Hotel facilities. Published information about pools, spas, restaurants, entertainment and room options.
- Variety. A mix of destinations and styles, so the collection offers more than one interpretation of a resort break.
- Practical information. Details that help travellers make a decision, including age restrictions and guest-only facilities.
How to read the numbers.
The numbered list is an editorial presentation order. It is not a score, a scientific comparison, a star classification or a statement that one property will suit every traveller better than another. There are no numerical review ratings on this site.
Where the facts come from.
Hotel descriptions are based on the properties' own published information, reviewed for this edition on 16 October 2026. The expanded note for each property links to an official source. We do not claim an in-person inspection or a first-hand stay.
What we leave out.
Game selection, gambling bonuses, odds and payouts do not inform our selection. We do not quote room prices because dates, room types, taxes and availability change what a guest will pay.
